Mindful Gardening Activity: A Date with Nature

Are you looking for a mindful nature-based activity to help you connect with yourself and the earth in a meaningful way? If so, I created something I think you’ll love. Do it by yourself, with other adults or kids, and repeat as often as you’d like! This “Date with Nature” was designed to be completed while seated in a garden, a park, lake, by the beach, or wherever you feel close to nature.

Below you’ll find the fill-in-the-blank questions that make up your Date with Nature activity.

You’ll also find two different formats in which I’ve enjoyed filling out the mindful nature workbook pages. One was made to fit on a normal 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and the other can be folded into a small “zine” or nature journal.

A Date with Nature:

Right now I see _____________________, _____________________, and _________________.

When I close my eyes, I hear ____________________________________.

If the ______________ could talk, it might say ____________________________________.

A small detail I'm noticing is _________________________.

I'm in awe of ____________________________________________________________________. (noun)

Take a deep breath and sit for a few minutes in silence, using all of your senses to take in your surroundings. If you could sum up my time in nature today, what would it look like?

If you’d like to print the zine version, you’ll noticed that half of the questions are upside down. That is because it is meant to be folded in a certain way. Below is a photo of the zine and click here for a guide on how to fold your zine to make it look like what you see below.

I hope you have a great time on your date with nature! As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. You can find me at kelli@floweremedy.co or on Instagram at @thefloweremedy.
